Natalie Dormer
(born 11 February 1982) is an English actress. Her accolades include winning an
Empire Award, and receiving nominations for the Critics' Choice Award, two
Gemini Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Dormer was born in Reading,
Berkshire. She became famous as Anne Boleyn, a character she played on the
Showtime series The Tudors (2008), which won her wide acclaim. Her stage debut
was with Sweet Nothings (2010). In Madonna's W.E., she played the character of the
Duchess, as well as York. (2011) and Private Lorraine in Captain America the
First Avenger (2011). After Miss Julie (2012), at the Young Vic, was highly
appreciated. Dormer was appreciated for her performances in After Miss Julie
(2012) at the Young Vic. Dormer has also played Irene Adler/Moriarty on the CBS
series Elementary (2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price in The Forest (2016) and
also voiced Onica in the series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). Her
performance was praised for her role as the lead in the miniseries Penny
Dreadful: City of Angels (2020). Dormer was born 11 February 1982 in Reading,
Berkshire (England), as the daughter of Gary Dormer & Claire Richards.
She is also the mother of Samantha Dormer and Mark Dormer.
