Sofia Margarita Vergara
Sofia Margarita Vergara, Spanish was born on July 10, 1972. She is an actress, presenter, producer, model, and television host from Colombia. Vergara was the highest-paid actress on American television between 2013 until 2020.Vergara rose to prominence while co-hosting two television shows for Spanish-language television channel Univision in the late 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was her first significant acting role in English. In the following years, she was a part of Four Brothers (2006) and Tyler Perry's comedy Jail (2008). She was nominated for an ALMA Award for the former. She began her career with ABC's comedy series Modern Family in 2009. For her role, she received four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. Her voice-overs included Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also in The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was also the most-paid Hollywood actress in 2020[citation needed]. Vergara is a judge on America’s Got Talent since 2020. Vergara was born in Barranquilla by a Roman Catholic couple. Vergara's mother Margarita Vergara was a homemaker and her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo was a cattle rancher. The five siblings of her and many of her cousins were known as "Toti". Vergara went on to study three years of dental school at the National University of Colombia. However, she decided to leave two semesters early to explore modeling and showbusiness opportunities.
