Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff is a French actress was born on the 3rd of May 1986. She studied at the Cours Florent drama school, Paris. She has appeared in films such as Loup 2009, Sleepless Night 2011 and Hacker's Game 2015. She portrays the role Mantis, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. (2017). Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was the child of a Korean mother, as well as an American-Russian father. Her father was consul in Quebec City, Canada. Her grandfather was a painter Eugene Klementieff. Pom was her name since it sounds similar to the Korean words "spring" and "tiger" in Korean. The actress spent a year in Canada before her family moved extensively due to her father's job. Prior to moving to France, they resided in Japan as well as on the Ivory Coast. Klementieff's father, who died aged 5 of cancer was her mother. Also, she was suffering from schizophrenia , and could not care for her kids. Klementieff was raised with her paternal uncle and aunt. Her uncle, who she said in her own words as "like [her] first father," died on Klementieff’s 18th birthday. Her brother, who was younger, took his own life seven years later. This time, it happened on her 25th. Following the death of her uncle, Klementieff went to law school for a short time to please her aunt. However, she did not feel that the field was attractive to her. In France she was employed as a salesperson and waitress. At the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris she started acting when she was 19. After a few months of education, she was awarded a theater competition that awarded her free classes for two years with some of the best teachers. Her first acting gig professionally was in the French independent film Apres lui (2007), acting as the stepdaughter in the film of the main character, which was played by Catherine Deneuve. Three days were spent on filming her scenes. One scene had Klementieff pushing someone down a set staircase, only to fall. Gael Morel saved that scene for the film that was to be released. Loup (2009) was her first leading role in a film. It is an French movie about a group of Siberian mountain reindeer herders. Klementieff was filming at an isolated camp, which was a few hours from the nearest village. The location was the one where temperatures dropped to minus.
