Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born to Gayle
(Gaston) who was director of national operations at Mary Kay and Freddie
Wright. She grew up in San Diego, California. Her professional journey began at
the age of 14 working as a model. She has worked both in Paris, Japan and
Paris. She made the decision to become an actress after she graduated high
school. She was given a role in Santa Barbara's soap-opera (1984), and she was
nominated for three daytime Emmys. In the first season the show, she was in
love with fellow cast member Dane Witherspoon, whom she married in the year
1986. In addition, she appeared in The Princess Bride (1987) playing the title
character. She was in the role of Santa Barbara but left to star in Denial
(1990) together with Jason Patric. She was in State of Grace (1990) in the year
she met Sean Penn. They had a daughter Dylan Frances and a son Hopper Jack.
Robin came back to Hollywood after a hiatus with one of her most memorable
parts: Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was stunning and brilliant. Next, she
was in Toys (1992) along in which she starred alongside Robin Williams. She
gave a hilarious performance. Wright was in 1994's blockbuster blockbuster
Forrest Gump (1994), acting alongside Tom Hanks. Wright received a nomination
for the Golden Globe Award in recognition of her performance as Jenny. She had
a small role in The Crossing Guard (1995) in which she starred Jack Nicholson.
After turning down 14 roles, she landed the title role in MGM/UA's Moll
Flanders (1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman and
Stockard Channing. In the following film, she co-starred with William Hurt in
Erin Dignam’s Loved (1997).
