Jennifer Carpenter Bio

American actress Jennifer Leann Carpenter was born December 7th, 1979. Her most famous work is her roles in the roles of Debra Morgan and Rebecca Harris in Showtime's Dexter. In 2019, she started as Erica Shepherd (the lead role on the NBC drama The Enemy Within). Carpenter first attracted critical attention with her performance in The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Carpenter won the 2006 MTV Movie Award in "Best Frightened Actress" and also received a Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. She was awarded the "Breakout Performer", at the 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They got married in California on New Year's Eve 2008. In December 2010, Hall and Carpenter released a statement announcing that they had filed for divorce after having been separated "for several time".The divorce was approved in December 2011 for irreconcilable differences; however, the two remain close family members. Carpenter and Seth Avett announced their engagement on February 10, 2015. Carpenter, who was eight-and half months pregnant at the time she filmed the pilot of Limitless and gave birth to her son in May 2015. Carpenter and Avett got married in May of 2016.
